- Born and raised in Orillia, Ontario

- Minor hockey graduate of the Orillia Terriers and Barrie Flyers

- 4 years of Junior A hockey with the Huntsville Wildcats and Couchiching Terriers (97-00)

- Ontario Junior A player of the year in 2000

- Received Div 1 full scholarship to Mercyhurst College in 2000 (Atlantic Hockey)

- Earned Atlantic Hockey All-Second team honors in 2002 and 2004

- Helped lead the Mercyhurst Lakers to 2 NCAA tournament appearances in 2002 and 2004

- 4 years of professional hockey in North America; 1 season in the United Hockey League(Muskegeon Fury), 1 season in the East Coast Hockey League (Pensacola Ice Pilots) and 2 seasons in Germany

- Earned United Hockey League All-Rookie team honors in 2005; leading rookie goal scorer
